My place and yours - Blog H.Q.

My blog H.Q. is at the kitchen/dining room table, down the far end away from sticky fingers. The computer used to be down the other end of the house in the study, but I found I would only check on it every few days. Now it is in the 'cockpit' of the house that isn't a problem any more.

There's my current pot holder in progress. There's usually another one underneath my laptop as that is my way of blocking them. Can get a bit wobbly when typing though.

There are always school notices and bits and pieces around, but this morning there's also the Saturday morning garage sale treasures.

A box full of tea spoons from a deceased estate for my sister Emily who collects them.

They are pretty beautiful to look at and imagine someone's great adventures travelling around Australia collecting them from places they visited. They are all made in Australia too.

These four are my favourites. From left Deloraine is near where my parents live, Castlemaine & Malden is the closest I could find to here, I love Strahan's dangly anchor and Burnie's apple.

Some lovely old linen.

And a tin of buttons.

When I walked down the hill to this garage sale a woman called out that she'd wondered if I would turn up as there'd been another blogger who'd already been earlier, but these were perfect for me. Bren loved this story. He said my blogutation had preceded me.

I have no idea if these buttons are old or precious but they are already being picked over and threaded and glued onto cards and presents for my birthday in a few days time. It looks like these buttons came just in time as I have a handmade cards and presents only rule this year.

Thanks Ninon for this week's theme and to Pip for hosting the big list.

  1. Hey Kate, I saw those spoons this morning! I woke about 6 so at 7 I hightailed it up to the same garage sale. There were about forty million spoons, all sorted into states! Glad you found some treasures, the buttons look ace xo

  6. I am loving Bren's "blog..." vocab. I admitted to a little "blie" in my blog today when I nudged a book I wanted to talk about a little further into the shot than it otherwise would have been! I think you need to add a list to your side bar of all his little gems ;)

  13. It's truly very complicated in this full of activity life to listen news on TV, therefore I only use world wide web for that purpose, and get the most recent news.

  14. Hi there! I understand this is sort of off-topic but I had to ask.
Does managing a well-established blog such as yours require a lot
of work? I'm brand new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal everyday. I'd like
to start a blog so I can easily share my own experience and feelings online.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for new aspiring blog owners.
    Thankyou!

  17. First off I would like to say terrific blog!
I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out
there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are
generally wasted just trying to figure out how to begin.

Any suggestions or tips? Appreciate it!

  19. Hello! Quick question that's entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when browsing from my apple iphone. I'm trying to find a theme or plugin that might
be able to correct this issue. If you have any
    suggestions, please share. Appreciate it!

Thanks so much for stopping by...

I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.
