Quick dress.

This morning I woke up and for some reason I changed my routine.

I did not check my emails, I did not check your blogs, I helped the girls get their breakfasts but did not eat my own.

For some reason the sewing machine was calling me and it was urgent.

I had three ten o'clock swimming lessons to get to and before then I had to sew something.

I yanked down fabric, drew the pattern, cut the pattern out, overlocked, stitched, bound, tried on and photographed Jazzy wearing it.

Probably a good thing she wont take it off for me to bind the bottom hem, because I have 28 minutes to get bathers, towels, clothes for afterwards, get them in the car and drive to school.

I wonder why I am wasting time downloading the photos and writing this blog.

Alright...publish...and off to swimming we go...hope you have a great day.

  1. I'm so impressed you made such a lovely dress, blogged about it then made it to swimming lessons for 10am!

The purple fabric is my favourite.

So nice to see pictures of summer!

  2. I love days like that, when I make it to the sewing machine to make something in a few 'stolen' moments.

    Love the dress!

  3. Super-mum! Great dress!!!
I am impressed too. What is it about the urge to create like that? I get that too - its like you have to get it out of your head and made or you can't concentrate on anything else- its so distracting until it's done. Like an itch.
I thought it was just me and my inpatience.

  12. Cute Cute Cute! I can't believe you did it all in one morning! :-) It would have taken me three days just to figure out how big to cut the neckline.

  15. the dress is fabulous! I love it sooo much. I do wish my girls were still at an age were I could make them something and they would happily put it on. If I did make them something now we would agonise for hours over patterns and fabric! so not worth it anymore. I think a grown up version of this would look great too
